The Writers Guild Foundations Veterans Writing Project with Frank Boss Jr.

Justin, Tom, and Trevor sit down with Frank Boss Jr. to discuss his recent participation in the the Writers Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Project. Frank shares his story of going from U.S. Marine to aspiring writer, and what he’s doing in that journey.

What should you know about the Veterans Writing Project? First of all, it’s free! You just apply, Second, it’s an amazing weekend filled with other aspiring writers who are all veterans, so you’re likely to meet people similar to yourself. Third, you’ll be paired with awesome mentors, get to hear some amazing writers share their stories and advice, and, if you live in LA, be part of a year long workshop.

When is the WGF’s Veterans Writing Project? From the website: “The first phase of the Veterans Writing Project – the weekend retreat – takes place on May 2 and 3. Vets who are accepted to the retreat will be eligible to take part in ongoing monthly workshops throughout 2015 and 2016. The second track begins with the weekend retreat on September 26 and 27, with ongoing monthly workshops through 2015-2016.” The dates tend to fall around these dates, so if you’re looking at this in the future, there you go. Don’t forget to apply, and get in early.
